The Minerals Council of Australia commissioned Ernst and Young study, as reported in Australian Mining (Zhou, 2019) found “new technology and innovative practices will enhance the performance and productivity of 42 per cent of Australian mining jobs…The rollout of new technologies would increase productivity up to 23 per cent, which could cost more than $35 billion. An investment of $5 billion to $13 billion in workforce capability will be required over the next decade to unlock future productivity gains”.
This new report supports the need for technological advancements in the environmental training sector.
Green Ticket Director Bill Haylock said companies wanting to increase their productivity should look at digital environmental training.
“There is a growing need for effective, efficient, and economical training. This study points to enhancing workforce capability to unlock productivity gains. Green Ticket upskills the workforce using adult education principles and providing learning stimulus that includes video, audio, and written content. The courses can be completed during the onboarding process, or on wet days—not eating into on-site work time,” Mr Haylock said.
“Investing in your workforce is key to seeing your productivity thrive.”
